Scam Reporting Policy
Reporting of Scams, Phishing Attempts and Fraudulent Activities
We have been made aware of instances where individuals and/or other organizations are fraudulently claiming themselves to be associated with Mrs. Sudha Murty also misspelled as Mrs. Sudha Murthy, Mrs. Sudha Moorthy or with their associates, members and/or office bearers.
These scams circulate via email, social media, postal mail, rogue websites, fax, and telephone and may be in a number of languages. They often include her photos, links, or other information taken directly from our official website at [Insert weblink], all claiming to be associated with Mrs. Sudha Murty.
Please be advised that neither Mrs. Murty nor her official team:
Communicate via generic e-mail addresses such as Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo etc. Any legitimate e-mail from Mrs. Murty’s office will always originate from a verifiable e-mail address (domain of ‘@murtytrust.org’) and not from any free web-based accounts.
Use social media to solicit beneficiaries. We do not solicit beneficiaries via LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or any other social media messaging applications.
Host internet lotteries or offer prizes of any kind through email, postal mail, telephone, or fax or in person.
Request registration fees for conferences or summits.
Request information about bank accounts or other private information.
Offer memberships or request membership fees.
Approach individuals or organisations offering grant opportunities through a third-party agent.
Charge any administrative, membership, handling or other fees when awarding a grant.
Offer prizes of any kind through email, postal mail, social media, instant messaging applications, telephone, fax, or in person.
Request registration fees to receive any grant opportunities.
Solicit individuals or others for investment opportunities.
Solicit donations in any way, manner or form at any time from the public.
Offer investment opportunities.
If you come across any suspicious activity claiming affiliation with Mrs. Murty, but appears to be a scam, we strongly encourage you to report it promptly. Please drop an email to info@murtytrust.org with the subject line “Scam Report – [Brief Description].” furnishing detailed information about the suspected scam, including any pertinent screenshots or documentation.
Details to Include in Your Report:
When reporting a potential scam, we request you to include the following details:
Nature of the Scam: Describe the suspicious activity and how it falsely associates with the individual or its members.
Date and Time: Specify when you first observed the scam or fraudulent activity.
Involved Parties: Offer any pertinent details about the individuals or entities involved in the suspected scam.
Evidence: Attach screenshots, links, or other evidence that supports your report.
Please note that due to the volume of inquiries we receive, we may not be able to respond to every request. The Trust assumes no liability for damages caused through any unlawful or fraudulent correspondence under the Trusts’ or its members’ name or likeness.
